God’s Heart

A young teen known for his positive and strong outlook on life asked of God, “I’ve been thinking, and I know what I want when I become a grown man.” He then gave God his list:

“To live in a big house with four bathrooms on a large plot of land, two German Shepard’s and a large gardenMarry a tall beautiful woman with enchanting eyesHave three handsome sons—one to become a senator, one a scientist, and one an NFL quarterback”. He also wanted to be an adventurer who climbed tall mountainsand to drive a candy apple red Ferrari.”

As it turned out, He hurt his knee one day while playing football.  Causing Him to no longer climb trees, much less Climb Mountains.  He married a lovely, kind woman, who was short with ordinary eyes. Because of his employment skills, he was forced to live in a small city apartment; he took cabs and rode subways.  He had three lovely daughters, and they adopted a fluffy cat. One daughter became a nurse, another an artist, and the third a music teacher.

One morning, having awakened as a seasoned, husband and father, a memory of his past boyhood dreams flashed across his mind.  He became extremely depressed, so depressed that he became very ill.  Close to death from a broken heart, he called out to God, “Remember when I was a young teen and told You all the things I wanted? Why?  Why didn’t you give me those things?”

The response from God was simple.  “I could have, but I wanted to make you happy.” Remember, God wants the best for us. The advice given is this. “Trust Him with your whole heart—Lean not unto your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Prov. 3:5&6.

He’s the original heart surgeon. God can heal a Broken Heart, but must have All of the pieces. My son, give me thine heartProverbs 23:26
