A Word of Encouragement

A Word of Encouragement

This was a note sent to me by one of my nephews at a time when I was struggling from the effects of my chemotherapy. Some mornings it was all I could do to get out of bed.  I had no appetite for food.  It was just a constant battle to move.  Then I got this note that reminded me that the battle is not mine, but the Lord’s

Good morning Unc (uncle) Rev. Bobby.

GOD IS SO GOOD, and the Almighty Savior is He.  Although I hate to hear about the issues surrounding your health, Uncle, I am at the same time ecstatic about your relentless drive and dedication to the Lord which puts me at a place of peace.

Not everyone understands you, but I know there is something special about the bond we share.  I may not be able to put my finger on it right now but there is definitely some cohesiveness in our journey.  As I mentioned to my little brother this morning, life is guaranteed to throw curve balls towards us; but the difference in people is how they will approach the plate to bat.

As long as I have known you, you have always been that home run hitter.  When home runs are hit, joy fills the arena.  Even "opposers" appreciate home runs.

Granted you will hear various opinions from people which may not always be of a positive nature; but you, Unc, being the person who I've come to know as a man of God that no one can successfully condemn.

I know this is a hard time for our family but the thing that brings a smile to my face and gives me tons of joy and hope is the way you continue to step up to the plate in the most difficult time of your life.  When the pressure is at its greatest you STILL find a way to make a difference in the lives of others through your writings.

God is a loving and caring God, and the older I get I begin to realize how the things one often depends on and cherishes the most are totally irrelevant if it's not in God's plan.  Unc, I thank you for these continuous passages that you deliver which always makes me think and reflect on the good that God has done for us all.

Often you never know how you may impact a person or a person’s life by what you do, but you continue to do what you have to do as a son of the Most High!  To God be the glory and I want you to know you are a miracle in the present tense!  Love you, Unc, and know God's work is never done!
